BAIR Boot Camp

BAIR Bootcamp is a practitioner's course focusing on real-world crime analysis techniques. Upon completion, students will master the skills necessary to become highly functional and successful crime analysts in today's policing environment. Students will learn advanced analytical techniques including predictive models, geographic profiling, spatial forecasts, advanced querying, and more! The student will learn how to leverage Microsoft Excel and Access to compete common analytical tasks. Key analytical methodologies such as DDACTS analysis, analyzing prolific offenders, measuring criminal activity at similar locations, and the use of COMPSTAT models will be discussed and the student will learn how to efficiently produce impactful, and operationally relevant, analytical products. A pre-reequisite for this class is an ATAC Workstation course or at least 1 year of practical use of ATAC Workstation. Students are highly encouraged to bring with them at least one year of data from their agency.
