Critical Thinking - and how to break the mold
The Executive Boards of the Arizona Association of Crime Analysts and the Southwest Chapter of the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts would like to announce we are partnering on a joint training conference. This year’s conference will present a range of topics covering everything from hands-on computer training to examining an analyst’s role in case work.
Dr. Harvey Goldstein will be our Keynote speaker. Dr. Goldstein brings his expertise in human behavior to the strategic facilitation of difficult situations and difficult people. A leader in the police psychology realm, he founded the Law Enforcement Behavioral Science Association and the Police Psychology Section of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Goldstein speaks to the importance of critical thinking in our law enforcement environments and how to break out of the mold to gain a new and imperative perspective.

On Sunday, July 28th, 2015, tragedy struck the Garza Family. That morning, Pete Garza’s Ford Expedition rolled multiple times after a tire failure, causing the death of Pete’s wife and three of their four children.
As some of you may know, Pete Garza started his career as an analyst with the Mesa Police Department before transferring to the FBI. During his time in Arizona, Pete served as a past President of the Arizona Association of Crime Analysts and is a dedicated colleague and friend.
